Quina Brunson Gifted Flower Bouquet From Oprah Celebrating Emmys Win
Quinta Brunson celebrated her 2024 Emmy Award win for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series with fresh flowers from an industry legend. The Abbott Elementary creator shared a massive bouquet on Instagram gifted to her by Oprah Winfrey following the historic night.
The giant display filled with pink and white roses, delivered to the set of the 34-year-old’s acclaimed sitcom, nearly covered the Philadelphia native’s entire frame in the photo uploaded to social media. A second photo in the carousel upload offered a closer look, with the top half of the comedic actress’ face barely visible behind the lavish arrangement.
“Thank you @Oprah for this small bouquet!” joked Brunson in her caption.
Taking home the coveted trophy, Brunson became the first Black woman to win the competitive category in decades. Her predecessor Isabel Sanford won for The Jeffersons in 1981. It was Brunson’s second consecutive year being nominated in the category.
“I don’t even know why I’m so emotional. I think, like, the Carol Burnett of it all,” relayed Brunson in her acceptance speech. “Thank you so much. I love making Abbott Elementary so much, and I am so happy to be able to live my dream and act out comedy. I say that every time. I just love comedy so much. I’m so happy to be able to get this.”
She continued, “I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my entire family so much. I love my husband. I’m so happy. I love my cast. I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much.”
