Celebrities Defend Leslie Jones After Reported Hack
The continuous attack on Leslie Jones has fellow comedians and celebrities coming to the star’s defense on social media.
The despicable act happened Wednesday (Aug 24), when Jones’ website was hacked with posts of her passport, nude photos and other personal information. The site was taken offline shortly after the hack. Continuous misogynoir acts have been thrown Jones’ way since her appearance in the remake of the 1984 film, Ghostbusters earlier this summer. The tauntings have even caused Jones to take a brief hiatus from Twitter. When she returned, her presence was welcomed warmly, paired with a golden ticket to the Olympics in Rio over her glowing commentary.
So far, there’s been no word if a criminal investigation will be considered. In the midst of the vile act, Ghostbusters director Paul Feig called the incident an “absolute outrage.” Jones’ SNL castmates also came to her defense, setting off a wave of love and support to the comedian.
What's happening to @Lesdoggg is an absolute outrage. Alt right, haters, trolls, "comedians," whoever the fuck you all are, you're just sad.

May many (more) bad things befall the cowards who've attacked my friend, @Lesdoggg. They are the worst of humanity, where she is the best.

Katy Perry, Octavia Spencer and more also followed with sweet words of encouragement for Jones, causing the return of #LoveforLeslieJ. Last week, Jones spoke with TIME about the attack and the notion of a faceless suspect.
“I was in my apartment by myself, and I felt trapped,” Jones said. “When you’re reading all these gay and racial slurs, it was like, I can’t fight y’all. I didn’t know what to do. Do you call the police? Then they got my email, and they started sending me threats that they were going to cut off my head and stuff they do to ‘N words.’ It’s not done to express an opinion, it’s done to scare you.”
Jones has yet to comment on the recent leaks. See more positive vibes for Jones below.

I truly don't know why people are so hateful towards @Lesdoggg. Why? She's talented and wonderful. Why are people so pressed to be awful?

This @Lesdoggg attack is troubling. The rampant racism percolating in society right now is shameful and sad. She made a movie, that's it!
