'Friends' Fans Voice Concerns About Matthew Perry's Health After Latest IG Snap
Friends fans have taken to social media to voice their concerns over Matthew Perry's appearance.
Perry - who played Chandler Bing in the popular 90's sitcom - was seen promoting a Friends T-shirt as fans wait for the highly anticipated reunion. Perry unveiled the brand new tee on Monday, posing in the black garment on Instagram for his 7.5million followers.
The slogan for this top was timed for the end of the pandemic, saying, "Could I BE any more vaccinated?"
The phrase is in the tradition of his sarcastic character from the hit NBC show.
"Get your shot and then get your shirt," Perry's caption continued, reminding fans the merch is only available for a limited time.
The font of the shirts mimics that of the iconic Friends title sequence. Fans are able to buy the merchandise on the link included in Matthew’s Instagram bio, represent.com/matthewperry.
Friends, which ran from 1994 until 2004, will see a reunion special airing on HBO max at the end of this month.
But all fans could talk about was how the actor looked in his social media pictures.
"He looks sick to me. Something is seriously wrong with him," one fan wrote online.
"Oh dear. I'm not a medical person, but it looks like maybe something more than "just" aging and drugs and alcohol having taken its toll. Wonder if there's another illness going on. I've always like him so much, Chandler was my favorite and I root for Matthew always," another added.
"Looks to me like he's unwell and some management team are probably taking advantage by getting him to do this," a third chimed in.
The latest assessment of his Perry's looks comes after fans came to his defense after he appeared to slur his speech in a promo for the upcoming reunion special.
Perry was seen in a People promo with co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
Some fans notice the 51-year-old actor stammered and stared in the clip.
When asked if he ever took anything from set as a souvenir, he admitted: "I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it' with a heavy 'sh' sound at the start of 'stole."
Twitter was alight with comments about the star after the clip went viral.
"Just saw People interview and can't believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart," one fan wrote online.
"It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this, he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly," wrote another.
"Hate to say it, but I'm sad and scared like hell for Matthew Perry," a third added. "Damn, Matthew Perry in those PEOPLE Friends interviews," a fourth commented.
