Sam Lufti Managed Both Britney Spears And Angus Cloud During Dark Times

In April, Angus’ former talent manager Diomi Cordero released a series of now-deleted tweets accusing Sam of being responsible for Angus’ downfall, pointing out Sam has a record of managing troubled celebrities. “Angus is currently being managed by Sam Lutfi and I find it incredibly interesting how Sam is somehow always associated with celebrities who are dealing with mental health and/or addiction issues," he wrote.

"[Lufti] managed Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Courtney Love in 2007/2008 in their most dark and vulnerable times,” he continued.

Diomi said he resigned in February 2020 due to Angus’ "verbal abuse, emotional distress & severe drug addiction." He added that Angus still owed him "outstanding management commissions from Angus totaling over $60,000.”

Britney Spears’ parents have been vocal about their belief that Sam contributed to their daughter’s breakdown in the early 2000s and abused her during her conservatorship, and the manager has gone on record saying he’s not surprised if Britney blames him.

"If she hates me after she's free I won't blame her," Sam tweeted after a court hearing in 2021 about Britney’s conservatorship. "I failed her, I was supposed to protect her from all this, I let her down and we both paid dearly for it."

Fans Think Angus Overdosed After His Mom Claims He Didn’t Take His Life

It’s speculated that Sam (or other members of his team) may have enabled a drug addiction, which caused his shocking death.

When his passing was first announced by his family via social media, the wording made some think he took his own life, as it emphasized Angus was struggling with his father’s death that happened two months prior.

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” it said. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

However, Angus’ mother, Lisa Cloud, later released a statement clarifying they do not believe Angus committed suicide. Rather, she said they’re waiting on the results of an autopsy to confirm if he died from an accidental overdose or another unknown cause.

“Social media posts have suggested his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case,” she wrote. “I only know that he put his head on the desk where he was working on art project’s, fell asleep and didn’t wake up.”

“We may find out that he overdosed accidentally and tragically, but it’s abundantly clear that he did not intend to check out of this world,” she continued. The results of an autopsy are still pending.
