American Idol's Alexis Cohen Laid to Rest
Less than a week after being killed by a hit-and-run driver, former American Idol contestant Alexis Cohen was laid to rest today near her hometown of Allentown, Penn.
Donors agreed to pay for a plot and service at Keneseth Israel Cemetery for the 25-year-old, who lived in a poor neighborhood, according to local newspaper The Morning Call.

Cohen's mother — who resided with the aspiring singer and actress in a studio apartment — did not comment to reporters after.
Family friends recalled Cohen's fun-loving nature.
"She could take the worst time, as bad as it was, and turn it into a fun time," said James Kern, 27, who said he dated Cohen off-and-on for several years.

Cohen earned the nickname Glitter Girl after the sparkly wardrobe and makeup she wore to her 2007 audition. When Simon Cowell failed to vote her through to Hollywood, she ranted that he was "egotistical" and declared she was going on to acting.
Her outburst earned her appearances on The View, Live With Regis and Kelly and Howard Stern's radio show.
She also tried out for Idol in 2008 unsuccessfully, and was waiting for a call back on her 2009 audition when she was killed, her mom said.
